Painfully slow and unpredictable user interaction

Someday, somebody will write a case study explaining why a company with great engineers like google cant write a usable messaging app. As a software engineer I understand it can be very hard to deliver but as a user I am terribly disappointed. The goal is very clear, just take whatsapp or Messages as a benchmark and aim for it.
Additionally this has been the application I have seen crash the most ever. Seems like the web framework they are trying to use is totally broken. They should just try to write a clean native app and stop being pretentious.
