Doesnt mark messages read

While I love that group messaging and MMS (FINALLY), but I wish reading an SMS reliably marked the message as read. I constantly have to open an SMS 2 or 3 times, scroll up in the message, scroll back down, exit the message, refresh the list, sometimes rinse and repeat, before it will mark the message as read. Yeah, I could mark ALL messages as read, but what if all messages are not yet read? Even adding the ability to manually mark an individual message as read by swiping left or right from the message list would be helpful.
