Less Glitchy Interface
Have been using Google Voice almost since it was released, and have ridden through the ups and downs. The v2 interface looks good, photo integration is great(!), conversation view is wonderful, and the same old integration with Contacts and the Phone apps is awesome.
The August 2017 version (2.6) has improved the lag significantly, but still pauses sometimes. The June 2017 version of Google Voice did not function smoothly at all on my iPhone 5s. Every action, from scrolling to creating a new message to searching, took a moment or two to get a response, if the action even registered at all. Not a pleasant or efficient experience.
Long press functions are back in v2.6, after a brief hiatus! SMS conversations can be archived, individual messages can be deleted, and both voice messages and call histories can be multi-selected for faster management. All this is faster and more intuitive than the past few versions. Thanks!
Ill finish by saying that the ability to switch between multiple GVoice accounts (as in Hangouts) is also really great!!! I previously had to use different apps for different numbers, but now they are better consolidated here. ??
Thankful Ben about
