Poor control

Google is usually so easy to use, across other platforms. However, this is a ridiculously difficult app to use. It takes four individual steps just to delete a call or message!
You should simply be able to swipe, left or right, to get rid of it. What is google trying to do? Prevent you from getting rid of your clutter?
