Keeps crashing! Sent multiple feedback forms in and I’m now trying to figure out how I keep this number and move it to another app!

Do NOT apply the DEC 18 upgrade (2.11); it too continues to crash constantly! How sad that Google cant manage QC or issue a proper fix. ---- Do NOT apply the NOV 17 upgrade (2.10); it crashes constantly! Again, like many times before in the Google voice 2.n product history, Google has issued a release that crashes frequently. This 2.10 code is bad. Do not apply this update. I.e.: its nearly impossible to send a text message without the app crashing while you type the text. The app even frequently crashes while idle! Google take note: These crashes are not triggering the "send crash report" mechanism!

I’d like to love Google Voice. I do love what it allows me to do, which is to keep my personal phone number and my work phone number separate while only carrying only a single device. I just set my contact information at work to show my Google Voice number and voilá: glorious segregation of my work life from my personal life. The app itself, however, is just ok. A design overhaul would be welcome, however the biggest issue for me was speed and responsiveness. Since I’ve upgraded to a new device it’s been better, but on my old iPhone 6 Plus it was e x t r e m l e y s l o w. Much more so than other apps. I don’t know anything about app development so I could be way off base, but it seems like GVoice doesn’t actually store information on the device locally, but instead is constantly having to recall it from the servers. Change from the text tab to the voicemails tab and watch everything reload almost like a webpage. This happens more quickly on a new device but it’s still rather janky. Beyond performance, I’d like for the contacts / text message screen to be a bit more tastefully designed. Any contact which doesn’t have a contact photo assigned get a randomly colored bubble and all texts received from them are colored that same random color. This color can’t be changed and many of the colors are downright obnoxious. High-contrast mode can be enabled in the settings menu as a workaround however some more tasteful design should preempt that from being necessary. Missing features: I hate to complain too much because i have no way of knowing how many of these are a result of the platform upon which Google Voice is built technically not allowing for these features to be implemented (vs simple lack of resources or importance placed on product development). But here are some things that would be welcomed: - Further MMS sending and receiving abilities. I can get pics now which is not something that could happen a few years ago, but a work colleague still can’t text me a contact card. - Better implementation with the iOS dialer. I have the system set such that if someone calls my Google Voice number it rings the device phone number (essentially fancy call forwarding). This happens server side which means I don’t have to worry about the instability of the app causing me to miss phone calls, which was a common occurrence when I was receiving calls in the app. The downside to this is that GVoice does not notify you that the call is coming in through the Google Voice number as opposed to your device phone number. So if someone calls my work phone and I don’t recognize the number, I have no way of know if this is a personal call or a work one. I don’t know what the ideal solution to this is, but as it stands making and receiving phone calls just feels a bit cumbersome. I don’t know what Google’s long term plans are for Voice, but I hope they don’t kill it. If it gets folded into another product but the core functionality remains then that’s fine but I’d hate to see it go the way of Reader. It just needs some TLC.

Appreciate supporting iPhone X, it’s must have update!

I run an animal rescue and I meet all types of total weirdos and sketchy individuals that try to call middle of be night, try to look up my address, give out my number to total strangers that have absolutely no regard for other people’s lives. Insert google voice, to give an additional line to my phone so I can keep it on me all the time without an actual second phone BUT have at least a small amount of privacy and keep track of my work people from my home people. BUT THIS APP CRASHES ALL THE TIME. ALL. THE. TIME. Almost every day, and often multiple times in a day. I will be trying to have a convo by text with volunteers giving time-sensitive information so they can have written instructions to refer back to later when they’re at the vet and I can’t get because it won’t stop crashing. It’s absolutely maddening. Very little options in settings. The whole app is very clunky and SO. SLOW. There’s a substantial delay using Google voice. If I knew of an alternative to this I would absolutely use it.

Like another reviewer noted, this app used to work very well, but recently it just crashes constantly. Very frustrating. Come on Google, get your act together!

Latest update Dec 18 2017 very disappointed that the app still keeps on crashing when typing a message

Suddenly it’s crashing all the time. You have to type the text message in a note and then copy and paste it over and even then you’re lucky if you get it sent in time.

Love the old google voice on my Apple devices running iOS 10 or lower and will never update. Unfortunately on ios 11 on my new iPad no choice but the new version. Much more buggy, no easy way to access contacts - at least there is a dialed, unlike on latest pc version where I need to go back to Legacy google voice. New app may be find for millennials, but for the rest of us give us a legacy app option.

Awhile back when you redesigned your app and changed the logo the keypad sound was removed, so now when I dial each digit of a telephone number there is no audio feedback. It’s very frustrating and causes me to misdial frequently. Please bring back the audio feedback when dialing a number. Also, after the logo changed dialing numbers is hit or miss. Sometimes the number keys acknowledge being pressed and other times not so much or pressing a number key one time results in two or three of the same number. I often find myself hitting the backspace key and attempting to dial the number repeatedly. What has gone wrong with this app. I feel like it has a mind of its own.

Clunky, slow and crashes often.

I’m checking every day for updates that will fix the app from crashing all the time, and I don’t understand why they don’t fix it??? I’m running a business with my google number and it’s impossible to keep this app open for more then 30 sec.

Been using this app for over 5 yrs now and we’ve had a love / hate relationship, but now it’s almost unusable with the constant crashing. I don’t even get the ‘Submit a Crash Report’ screen anymore it crashes so frequently. I’d say I’m lucky to read and respond to one message before it crashes, as long as that response is short. This probably started a couple months ago If Google updates and fixes the crash, I’ll update my review.

Please fix all the bugs and make it for iPhone X !!! Please So far ONE STAR

Was hopeful that the version update had fixed the issue that caused this app to crash about 30 seconds after it is opened and I start to write a SMS but no, the issue still exists. This makes this app extremely frustrating to use. Google really needs to fix this issue once and for all as it has existed for several months and makes this a terrible app.

I’m using the iPhone X and this app is currently very annoying to look at, especially with the black bars on top and bottom. I like using his app so please incorporate this fix for iPhone X screen optimization. Thank you.

This app has the slowest updates ever.

This is so crazy, people complained about app crashing while typing a message and now you came up with an update only for it to continue crashing, so what is the update for? Shouldnt you find a way to fix that

Why cant I share via Voice. Hangouts still is there and available for sharing. Annoying that voice doesnt allow this
