Google Voice App Reviews

I used this app earlier, and I am trying it again. It works and functions very good. It is a very good phone app for iPads and tablets. I don’t need to rate it 5 stars, but I will recommend this app for iPad and iOS 11.

Text threads appear to be screwed up in the latest version. Even with the app and thread open, I have to exit the text thread and come back to see new texts.

THE LAST UPDATE HAS CAUSED MY APP TO KEEP CRASHING

Can’t stay open for more that 3 min without crashing. :-(

Its nice to have a second number. But being from Google, it’s not user friendly, and it doesn’t work to send Gboard gif’s!! Come on Google, put some effort in simplifying the App and improving it.

The new Google Voice app definitely looks a lot better than the old one. The colors are brighter and, unlike before, MMS messages show up in the app. Also, texts are threaded, so when somebody texts you a day or two later, it shows up with the rest of their text messages, instead of starting a brand-new thread. Great job on the improvements! However, now theres no way to delete messages. Sure, there are instructions to delete messages and it supposed to work, but it doesnt. Please fix this – we need to be able to delete messages! update 9/26/17 - the new version of google voice crashes repeatedly - unable to send messages!

Love app but latest version crashes after being open for a few sec.

If they would combine the ability to make phone calls like in Hangouts with this app I would give it 5 stars

Thank you for this helpful app! Been using it for years. International call is cheap and very convinent to use. I read on Google page that this app will be free for life. Please tell me that its so. Sideline has recently changed to a paid app, and I gave up my number. :( A suggestion: When my phone rings, is there anyway to know that theyre calling my Google Voice or my regular number? It will be super if you can help with that. Thank you!!!

Too bloated

This has been a great app thru the years. But a recent update basically makes the app unusable on the iPhone. When receiving a longer text, the app displays the first part of the text followed by three dots. But that is all you see. All attempts to show the full message failed. Please fix

Latest update has the app constantly crashing! And not sending crash reports either! No one to call about it. Does Google even have a way to contact their customer service???

Crashes constantly. It takes longer than it should to reload messaging history. It requires force quit to refresh. Honestly, this is Googles greatest failure.

I have been using this app for several years but the latest update (that I believe was for iOS 11) (FIXED QUICKLY) is cutting off incoming and outgoing text messages. Although I type a complete message after sending the message it is truncated and/or part of the text is deleted. The same thing happens on incoming texts. Additionally many attachments to text my text messages will not go through to the recipient. (ILL SEE IF THIS IS FIXED) Again I thank you for the free app and phone number but please fix these problems.

It crashes every single time I try to use it now. An update should fix things, not break them, no?

Great improvements on the app! I appreciate that my suggestions were addressed. The messages from a certain number stay organized together, and texts have a more specific time stamp. Recently, Ive preferred to link my account with the hangouts app so I can make calls with my google voice number over wifi, but these updates are great. I also like the added pop of color in the message bubbles!

This is an enormous update for Google Voice that finally brings (overdue) features that make the app far more useable. It still does not support copy/paste from this party keyboards (Bitmoji, GIF keyboard, etc) and crashes A LOT

Been using for years, previously on Android and now iOS. Very useful but missing some important stuff like read receipt. Also since iOS 11 it truncated view of longer texts with ... and I don’t think there’s any way to see the whole message. I’ve had to turn on text to email forwarding to be able to read them all again. Hoping that’s fixed soon.
