I have been using google voice for few years and i love it since I don’t have to give my personal number to everyone I have been having problem with the apps crashing for past 2 weeks. Not sure if any recent “upgrade” created this issue - but it is very terrible. While in middle of sending text message or reading a message it is crashing and I have to start all over again Please fix it

Recent update has left my IPhone 7+ with stability issues when messaging. In the middle of a text screen will black out and when it returns the text in process is gone. Please fix! Also Unable to send photos via app

App updated 3 days ago and now will force close in 1 minute of being open. Updated phone to IOS 11. Uninstall/reinstall Google voice. Still force closing. Attempted to contact developer to leave feedback but only goes to “how to use Google Voice” options.

Google has been unable to keep up with the iOS upgrade and consequently the app has become unstable and crashes repeatedly when using the text feature. If you are a business this is a huge problem as it disrupts timely responses and seamless Client interactions. Don’t use until they sort this out!

The app crashes while navigating the app and texting making it very difficult to use on a regular basis.

Google has destroyed this app with their material design BS, and its impossible to do anything like I would expect in iOS. I dont use android because I want a consistent, logical way to use apps. By changing the UI/X, Google has made this app difficult and stupid. Material design and hamburger menus are a horrible choice.

I really do like this app. It’s very convenient for a free service. Call in, call out, text, link all numbers home, office, cell into one convent number to give out. My only problem is when sending pics via text in google voice. It does not allow you to go to your picture folders to send a picture. This is not good. I don’t want it to just go to my camera roll and search all my photos when I’m trying to send a picture from the beach last weekend or a work document I scanned. I want to be able to go into the individual photo folder like you can when sending a regular text message/iMessage/FB message/WhatsApp. Please please please update this feature.

It is really good to have this app, so I can have free text, group text while wifi is connected. One thing need to be changed is to let me call through Google voice even though wifi is not connected. It used to work that way, it was changed. I will give 5 stars, if I can call through Google Voice without wifi connection.

What’s going on guys? The last version was crashing occasionally, about once a day maybe twice. It would asked to send a crash report. The newest version now crashes if it stays open more than a minute or two, and does not ask for a crash report. I’m getting close to giving up and I was one of the original beta testers!!

This app is slow to show messages. I have to wait a couple of seconds to see the bold new message. It should be quick. This thing crashes when I open the app to read a new message. Back to the drawing board with this version.

Gets worse with every update they do!!!!! Still jacked and now it continuously crashes. Google, wheres your quality control? What did you do with your competent programmers? Did they all go over to apple? It wasnt broken before the update but is now. All useful functionality is gone! Back to the drawing board you tech developers!!!

After loading IOS11 on my iPhone, Google updated this app. Now it crashes in the middle of typing a message. Does anyone do testing before sending out updates?

Cmon...it’s so slow to text. The text I send takes it’s sweet time to appear, and it’s s all glitchy and buggy. Pretty disappointed.. thanks anyway for making it free at least.

Google Voice works great for me.

Update 4: Latest version crashes within seconds on iPhone 6S, doing anything or nothing. Down to 1 star. Update 3: Be smarter by auto-filling recent recipients when typing in that field (rather than always showing same alpha-ordered matches). Clicking + should take directly to current tabbed function (rather than popping up to pick Message vs Call). After sending a Message, actually show what the user sent (rather than hiding it behind Type a message). Bring back Quick Dial. Add Googles voice to text function. It beats Apples hands down. Update 2: Keeping three stars as bottom "tab" area has subtle notification for e.g. new voicemails. Needs more pronounced look, similar to iOS badge app icons. Update: Three stars now. Like group messages and MMS Google finally added. Still need to fix read/unread status as reading and sometimes even replying to a text often keeps it unread, requiring another "read" to reflect correct status. Original: Like the UI updates. BUT now I have to "archive" ALL messages that were *previously archived* to clear out what used to be the Inbox?? Glad I only updated on test device so normal phone can still have old version that still knows what "Inbox" means.

When I first started using this app four years ago it was pretty good, it allowed me to *star* important messages so I could come back to them. However it had weirdness in the text composing window that was a bit unwieldy. I still used it for my business and was thankful. Later an update took away my lovely ability to *star* important messages (one of its BEST features!), but it made the text composing feature much better. With the latest update two days ago, I still don’t have the *star* feature back, everything else seems roughly the same, except now the app crashes about every 20 seconds when I’m trying to compose a text to my clients. I’ve had to start using my notes app to compose messages, then copy and paste them into the Google Voice app so I can communicate with my clients. I haven’t yet tried a phone call since I’m afraid I will be disconnected after 20 seconds. Please fix this crashing problem ASAP!
