OK

The app is great, I just wish I was able to separate my contacts from the ones that I use on this app!

Needs to be fixed

To keyboard covers up the pop-up menu. I cant make phone calls now.

Latest update very unstable on iOS 10

Latest update very unstable on iOS 10

Great functionality but could play nicer with iPhone.

The functionality and convenience of having one number that goes to all devices is without a doubt very efficient. The reliability of the service is very hard. However, the ability of Google voice to work with the iPhone contacts is not as smooth as it should be. The favorites are not readily available. And the display of contacts is cumbersome. Except for the small piece of the application which is not playing nice with iPhone I really enjoy the app.

9_27_17 update is BUGGY!

What happened!? Its crashing on EVERY iOS device! Please fix this!!

Riddled with bugs

This app has been bug riddled for a long time. The worst quality of all Google products. How this passes QA is beyond belief.

Crashing

Since the latest update its crashing within about 10 seconds of opening texts.

Terrible. Typical.

App keeps crashing and I cant even get through playing a single voicemail. In fact, with latest updates, its getting so bad Ive contemplated getting rid of my voice number all together.

Newest update crashes a lot

Been using it since the early day but this most recent update on the iPad Pro 9.7 crashes or reboots for each message I send. Uninstalled and Reinstalled and still reboots so it is the app.

Inconsistent and Somewhat Unreliable

This is a clean app and has a huge upside if it was consistent. It is faster than other similar VOIP apps available and calls and texts with relative ease, again, if it worked all the time. I will be in the middle of making a call and the app would just force close on me forcing me to open it back up only for the same thing to happen. I’d say this happens about 35% of the time. It’s so unfortunate because I love the product. Please fix!

Crashing

Keeps crashing iPhone 7 ios11

Not bad

The Google folks have been working hard on this app since they give it the functionality we all expect when we text. I have every faith that they will finally get it together and that one day it will work effortlessly like it used to before they added the features that we all asked for. Google voice, in general, is a service that I cannot see living without. In my opinion, google voice must be something that God created on the eighth day after he rested on the seventh I love it that much. I feel sorry for people who do not use Google Voice as their primary way to contact people. I cant think of any way that they could possibly improve google voices incredibly rich and awesome features, except to finally get the app to stop crashing a few times a week.

Not loving todays update

Todays update keeps crashing on multiple iOS devices running iOS 11. Major bummer! I hope a fix will come out very soon because it sticks to have to keep writing the same message over and over in hopes I can hit send before the app quits unexpectedly. ):.

Love is fickle

I absolutely love having this. My one and only complaint is that I have no visual way of identifying a google voice call from a regular call.

Going backwards in stability

Updated App crashes every time in the middle of typing a text. Very bad. Much better on this release! Ive been using the app for over three years and its incredible now!

iOS 11 serious issues

After updating to iOS 11 on iPhone 6, the app crashes after each text response.

Good app, needs trash function!

Great app but needs the trash or delete message function added to the app.

Back to bleh - constant crashes

Update 4: Latest version crashes often while drafting a text. Down to 1 star. Update 3: Be smarter by auto-filling recent recipients when typing in that field (rather than always showing same alpha-ordered matches). Clicking + should take directly to current tabbed function (rather than popping up to pick Message vs Call). After sending a Message, actually show what the user sent (rather than hiding it behind Type a message). Bring back Quick Dial. Add Googles voice to text function. It beats Apples hands down. Update 2: Keeping three stars as bottom "tab" area has subtle notification for e.g. new voicemails. Needs more pronounced look, similar to iOS badge app icons. Update: Three stars now. Like group messages and MMS Google finally added. Still need to fix read/unread status as reading and sometimes even replying to a text often keeps it unread, requiring another "read" to reflect correct status. Original: Like the UI updates. BUT now I have to "archive" ALL messages that were *previously archived* to clear out what used to be the Inbox?? Glad I only updated on test device so normal phone can still have old version that still knows what "Inbox" means.

Buggy, still low priority for Google

Updated for version 2.7 in September 2017 — Version 2.7 is more unstable: crashes constantly, losing partially composed text messages; dialing phone numbers is still glacially SLOOOOW, sometimes crashing Lowering rating to one star. Updated for version 2.5 in June 2017 — The GV app may have improved internally, but bugs remain: the keypad is unusable for tapping out a phone number; performance is GLACIALLY SLOW throughout, from refreshing messages in text conversations to updating contact names in calls and conversations. Very disappointing, Google! Updated for version 2.1 in early 2017 — Finally, Google gives some love to this old, old, old app! Pros: streamlined interface, iPad version, now send and view photos in messages Cons: SLOW, SLOW, so slow it seems like the app has crashed sometimes; user interface for calling and messages is cumbersome and confusing Overall, a mixed bag: welcome catch-up improvements; frustrating performance; confusing user interface elements; rating unchanged at 3 stars ========== Updated for version 1.6 in 2015 — OBVIOUSLY no longer a priority. Evidence #1 — the app icon changed in v1.6, but the App Store icon is the OLD one, not the new one Evidence #2 — bugs! example: when composing a text message, iOS 8’s QuickType suggestions cause the Send button to overlay the character count. Sad . . . ========= Once upon a time, this was a great app. Once upon a time… Now, in 2013 its obviously no longer a priority for Google. Key features are missing and only available from the web site. Among the most important IMHO, is the ability to block a caller. The only way to block a SPAM caller is to go to the web site — what could be a simple setting for the app is just missing in action. Google is definitely neglecting Voice…

Needs improvement on apple

The application is very slow. Typing takes a long time to appear on the screen and when you read a message the notification doesnt disappear. Phone calls disconnect when a text comes through. Its not working very well.
