Bummer

Even the phone number you are dialing is switched off it still rings and does not report correct status of the dialing number. Very unhappy with such service from Google.

This app takes SO LONG to load when I open it. And why wont this app ring in with VOIP calls? Why do I have to forward to hangouts? I dont like hangouts, I cant figure out how to initiate a text in that mess. These are all issues we complained about to developers years ago, youd think the updated version would fix this. Two stars because it does technically work.

Got a notification that a file type is not supported and it used to send it to my email but the new version doesnt. Please remediate asap.

Update 2: Keeping three stars as bottom "tab" area has subtle notification for e.g. new voicemails. Needs more pronounced look, similar to iOS badge app icons. Update: Three stars now. Like group messages and MMS Google finally added. Still need to fix read/unread status as reading and sometimes even replying to a text often keeps it unread, requiring another "read" to reflect correct status. Original: Like the UI updates. BUT now I have to "archive" ALL messages that were *previously archived* to clear out what used to be the Inbox?? Glad I only updated on test device so normal phone can still have old version that still knows what "Inbox" means.

Google Voice recently updated its app in Android and it is working beautifully now on my Moto G4. Until this update it was very slow in responding as it still is in the Apple ecosystem. Ver sluggish & poorly responsive on my iPhone 6 Plus: A big disappointment BUT the technical blogs indicate that the update in the App Store is coming soon so the performance should improve on iPhones too. You will again love this marvelous communications system.

Three taps just to make a call?? Ridiculous.

Just straight up terrible. The code was ridden by someone whos most likely never used a decent messaging app. You will notice the app is slower than trump supporters. Trying to add someone to the contact through the app is like pulling teeth....from a hungry grizzly bear. Its unbelievable you cant select a contact and change their info. You still cant send videos...because its not like people like to share videos, amirite? You can save a video onto a sd card, tie it to a pigeon and let it lose, and have a better chance of your friends receiving the video than google voice. I think google invented a time machine, went back to 1994 and hired coders from AOL. They cant get a simple messaging app right and they want you to get in one of their cars that drives themselves? Why dont I just jump in front of a speeding bus, because it will be less painful and free. TL;DR this app blows.

If you want your iPod to call someone you have to put in your phone number(iPods dont have phone numbers)so now you can call from your phone like you always could?

cmon google. the older version was great worked fine. this current version freezes and crashes EVERY time i use on iphone running 9.2.1 i do not recommend updating to new version.

Unable to register a number....It keep bringing you to startup screen

Ok, this app worked well for like a week. Then all of a sudden it stopped responding to the numbers I tried calling. Example, If I try dialing 555-5555 then the app starts calling a totally different number. It doesnt understand!

Why this app is surprisingly slow. Not the type of quality expected from Google. Old versions used to work well.

I really miss the original Google voice app. We cant access call notes anymore. Response is terribly sluggish now when updating call history. The new UI is a huge step backwards. Less information can be displayed on screen.

Works just as described

After I get a notification and see the first part of a text, I go into the app and its not there, I have to wait and wait and finally it will show up.

After I sign in with the one and only account I have, the next screen tells me to "Choose a Google Voicemail Number" and Search. I already have a Google number and it wont allow me to bypass this screen!! Is this an a issue? Is there any way to bypass this?

I like the app but am disappointed that finding a gif in Gboard works but the voice app wont let me paste it into a text conversation.

This app has gone from meh to absolutely horrible. It is not intuitive and is so SLOW even on high speed wifi. Come on Google! Im not buying an Android phone just to use Google Voice!

The user face is hideous. So 2001. And the logo for this app is hideous. Time for an upgrade. Higher some new designers Google.
