I would pay $500 just to have the old version back. Yes, just to have the old app which was in itself pretty bad. But the new one is horrendous. No favorites list. Searching for a contact freezes the screen. Everything is so slow its almost unusable. Im on a 6S Plus and it feels like Im using an iPhone 3. Update, latest version even worse. Can’t text without app crashing. Latest update worse than previous. I didn’t think that was possible. It still crashes while texting but now just pulling up a contact can take up to 30 seconds.

Still not improved!!! I have been using Google voice for nearly 4 years. I needed a safer way to contact clients while Keeping a low profile as well as a way to contact guys I date and block them if need be all while having the ability to archive messages to reference later since I’m also a writer. Overall the service works great but why no address book was included in iPhone app version is beyond me. So I had to add the clients number to the iPhone which became problematic when Facebook linked my profile to these contacts and all the sudden my privacy was violated. And because you can add and update or block numbers from the app only when you log in via your email it gets super annoying. I also wish google had allowed for pictures to be sent out not just received. I recently downloaded another Google voice 3 app which I hoped included an address book along with picture sending and since downloading and using that I can no longer make calls using regular Google voice app. I also wish the messages wouldnt be separated into various conversations with the same person. Why couldnt they archive like regular text message for the same number. Google please fix!!

This is my second review, last one I gave a 3 star. This time is only worth 1. Because the app is very inconsistent. It works well most of the time, but... and it’s a big BUT. I can’t call certain people. Can you believe it? I called my family a few time just during the test, their phones are not even ringing.... what good is a phone app that the calls can’t get through. Please fix it google!

Latest version crashes when typing simple message and does not allow sending pics on iOS 11 Come on google. Fix me please

I loved the app when I first got it but since the last update, it crashes all of the time. I cant send a text without it crashing. Its almost unusable. Terrible!

As a Realtor, Phone reliability is critical. I use Google Voice fir my business so that I have a local number for my community instead of the phone number I had from graduate school in another state. I updated the app one week ago and went from loving the app to getting frustrated daily as it keeps crashing while I’m writing a text. Then I have to re-open the app and re-write the text. Three text messages in one conversation with two crashes this morning. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

What I like most is the call forwarding feature, and the voice to text messaging. Excellent service!

This app is perfect! I have to make calls to different states. This allows me to have an area code for that area. It reduces the amount of people that ignore my call cause they think Im a bill collector!

Google Voice may have its issues but my company recently changed from it to Jive and it’s night and day. I miss Google Voice and would gladly take the few problems here than the daily hassle there!!!!

Really liked the App before recent updates. Used often, prior, and had no problems. Seems recent update causes App to crash often when texting and disconnecting phone calls. Can only text 5-8 words before App crashes. Bug fixes need to be corrected.

The contact icon disappears constantly. It crashes intermittently. Its still awful!

Crashes all the time, mms goes out of order in conversations. Scrolling issues with reading threads. And now it’s also chewing through battery life. This app is done.

I would love it if only it will stop crashing so often!

This app used to be adequate. It never ran fast, but it infrequently crashed, and would have garnered a 3-4 star review, but recently the iOS app has been running very slowly, unresponsive in the app, and constantly crashing. Google, please make a greater investment in a wonderful platform, and make this app function well again!

Google Voice iOS 11, iPhone 6S. I love the functionality of GV, but can only depend on the PC browser version nowadays. The version on iPhone crashes constantly. I will keep trying to uninstall, reboot, reinstall, but that does not help. There was a short time from early Nov to Thanksgiving 2017 that the crashes abated somewhat, but now consistently crashes anywhere from 5 sec to 30 sec after opening up the app and refreshing for new texts/voicemails.

I loved this app up until the updates made about two months ago. I use this app exclusively for business and now it’s becoming a hassle to use. The app is constantly crashing, especially when trying to write text messages. I just tried to write the same message three times in the app and it crashed every time, so I finally gave up. I often have to write the text in another app and then copy and paste it into Google Voice for sending purposes, which I will have to do with this latest message as well. I’ve also had messages and voicemails that did not end up coming through, which cannot happen in my line of business. I like the fact that pictures can on be sent through the text message part of it, and that the functionality has improved, but not at the expense of basic functions. The app is also loading much slower, takes a lot longer for messages to show up as well as taking longer for keyboards and functions to show up. All of which wastes a lot of time. As I said, I loved this app up until a couple of months ago and would’ve given it a five star rating then. The only reason it has a three star rating now is because of that. Otherwise, it really deserves a one or a two star rating as it is now. I would gladly pay for the app if it still worked appropriately. Very annoying.

Seriously once I updated my phone now all it does is give me 5 seconds to reply!!! I won’t be satisfied until the lagging and crashing is fixed like how it was!
