This service used to be an incredibly powerful tool for business... yet has progressively ceased its usefulness. Perhaps we should blame Tech Wars? At one time there were many options to pair a Google voice number w 3rd party apps. Ill call this the golden era bc ever since Google cut all 3p options and forced us to use their own app... the utility has been on tilt. Its slow, and it crashes frequently. My easiest obvious assumption was the same as Apple iOs screwing us w Apple Maps crapp vs the superior functionality of Google Mapps app. Perhaps Apple was hamstringing Google Voice? Well a free app w a free alternate phone number was worth a few annoyances... so long as calls & texts went thru. Now even this has ceased to function. Since I use Google Voice almost exclusively for business (local ph#!) I can NOT afford to miss texts, picture messages and phone calls. I can NOT afford to use this free POS because it is now costing me more than $1.99 app price or $3.99/mo telephony line. Granted, the big-G big-Data can scrape all my info that might be worth more, but alas NOT without merit. Ah The price of free...

Playing Google Voice Voicemail no sound on iOS apps or when played from a safari webpage. I see the latest version has the same issue on Android devices too.

All it does is crash and when I try to create a contact, you can not make any notes for the contact. It won’t let you so you have to go to your regular contact list and reopen the contact THEN write notes. So tedious!

Are you looking at Whatsapp or Vonage extensions? They are now integrated with iOS. Have you heard of MMS? MMS comes weird crappy attachments.

I’ve been using GV since beta and they have nearly perfected the app. I am using it every day and have no problem with the app.

Crashes al the time ! Text feature is horrible, I had to refresh to see the new messages, messages get displayed multiple times and so on. I thought google hires best engineers !!

Do NOT apply the NOV 17 upgrade (2.10); it crashes constantly! Again, like many times before in the Google voice 2.n product history, Google has issued a release that crashes frequently. This 2.10 code is bad. Do not apply this update. I.e.: its nearly impossible to send a text message without the app crashing while you type the text. The app even frequently crashes while idle! Google take note: These crashes are not triggering the "send crash report" mechanism!

The app crashes frequently, and has since iOS 11 was released. That said, it is the usual Google spin on the user experience, which is to say awful. Try sending a photo from a large photo library. Well, try it if you want to pull your hair out. Scroll, scroll, scroll, etc. Then...crash. Okay, just send it through the Photos App, right? No. It doesn’t integrate with the Photos App. The service is great. This app? Not at all.

It’s a great app to have a separate number. BUT unable to send pics. I can attach them to a text but wont send. If they fix this it would be 5 Stars.

Ive used this app for years but the latest version crashes when I write text messages (and before they are sent!) Im on iOS 11.1.2.

I use this for my business line. Love today’s update btw. Much easier to copy messages

I have been using Google Voice app for well over five years. Couple of versions ago it started shutting itself off after being open about 30 seconds. I am now using it on an iPhone sex with iOS 11.1.2. It is doing it again. When I am in the texting portion of the app, after the app is been open about 30 seconds it just closes. Makes usability very impaired. If this bug is repaired, the app gets five stars

Im hesitant to give it 5 stars yet because of how terrible the crashing was in the last update. And Im not updating from now on because this release seems stable. I use the app because I love GV but the app is just mediocre.

I been using this app for years, it really can use some improvement and new features, support 2 numbers for example, or make interface easy to use , there is no need for 2 tabs messaging and calls, recently about 3 month till today, app keeps crashing on iPhone, i have to reinstall it every time, i did submit many crash reports to support email, nothing happened , hope development team read this and fix this app, thanks

Google Voice itself is amazing. Im just posting this review to warn people that this version (2.10) crashes when typing a message. It crashes over and over, stay on the older version until it is fixed.

You can no longer use the app unless you give Google access to your entire address book! ☹️

I’ll give you a 5 star review once the app is updated to support the iPhone X!
