I only need this app to change which cell phone number my teams Google Voice number is forwarded to, since the website basically forces you to download this app instead of letting you do it there. There is no button, link, or toggle for that setting. I was lucky enough to discover that you have to tap on the text that talks about which numbers are forwarded. In fact thats how many, but not all of the settings work. Bizarre.

If i already had a working phone, i wouldnt need this PoS to take its place. But you can only register, if you have a working phone. Another homerun, from the dipshits at google.

I am a long-term GVoice user 9 years into that, but it is obvious that Google is no longer sees GVoice as strategic. Launching app like this one without Alpha pre-fix is not honorable. Too bad that another great idea is about to bite the dust. Change is constant but it is not always for the better. Need to start porting out of GV.

This is app is useless now. Not sure what is going on at Google or wherever that this critical function has been nerfed. Whats the point of this app if it cant accept text messages?

Could be faster but overall very happy with the steady stream of improvements

Could they make this app more confusing and worthless? No.

The latest version removed vital feature: being able to launch a call using the app, but outbound from my home analog phone (i.e. dont use iPhone to launch call; have GV launch call back to home phone, then connect to destination, like web page phone calls are launched). Without this, I had to revert to older version of the app.

FIX THE MMS ISSUE!! I have been using Google Voice for years so I do not have to give clients my personal cell number. I was so happy to finally see an update (please update more often) and so happy that update included MMS support. Also please bring back the Quick Dial list. That was so convenient.

I use to have no problems with this app. Then one day it stopped letting me make calls. Every time I try to make a call from this app it says "We could not complete your call - Please try again". I tried uninstalling it & reinstalling it. That didnt help at all. Im beyond frustrated with this horrible app!

Ok, there are issues with this app, but the service is so vital to my family that I would literally pay Google every month to use this app. Google Voice gives you a phone number that you can fully access over wifi, on an iPad, or on an old phone that has no carrier service. You can use it to text, call, or use in any way. That is awesome! My kid was 5 and I got her a number. That let her text her aunt and uncle! Add in the controls to turn off the ringer during quiet hours, or to block individual numbers, and GV becomes vital!

This is really frustrating that for the outgoing call I cant change my settings to ask me every time from regular dial pad like android.

Glad they finally decided to revamp this app. It has needed help for a long time. Unfortunately, this new version just keeps freezing.

Updated for version 2.5 in June 2017 — The GV app may have improved internally, but bugs remain: the keypad is unusable for tapping out a phone number; performance is GLACIALLY SLOW throughout, from refreshing messages in text conversations to updating contact names in calls and conversations. Very disappointing, Google! Updated for version 2.1 in early 2017 — Finally, Google gives some love to this old, old, old app! Pros: streamlined interface, iPad version, now send and view photos in messages Cons: SLOW, SLOW, so slow it seems like the app has crashed sometimes; user interface for calling and messages is cumbersome and confusing Overall, a mixed bag: welcome catch-up improvements; frustrating performance; confusing user interface elements; rating unchanged at 3 stars ========== Updated for version 1.6 in 2015 — OBVIOUSLY no longer a priority. Evidence #1 — the app icon changed in v1.6, but the App Store icon is the OLD one, not the new one Evidence #2 — bugs! example: when composing a text message, iOS 8’s QuickType suggestions cause the Send button to overlay the character count. Sad . . . ========= Once upon a time, this was a great app. Once upon a time… Now, in 2013 its obviously no longer a priority for Google. Key features are missing and only available from the web site. Among the most important IMHO, is the ability to block a caller. The only way to block a SPAM caller is to go to the web site — what could be a simple setting for the app is just missing in action. Google is definitely neglecting Voice…

Pros / Cons 1. The app is now slowing down and taking too long to function, also freezing. 2. Feature: "Mark as Unread" is done away with. Please bring it back. It helps with adequately getting back to people, after opening and reading their message or voicemail. Tip for users: you can download gv connect, and mark messages "unread" in the meantime, as a side app function for google voice. 3. In the "add to contact" section, it would be great if you can leave the phone number in its prior format: 555-555-5555, without the parenthesis. It helps with copy/paste/search in several ways, and in other apps, including your own app. You cant copy and paste the number to see all history of the number in the actual google voice app. (text/vm/calls) 4. Photo option is awesome! 5. Provide an easy way to send feedback to developers, to improve the app. From the other options of apps that work with google voice, this is still the most convenient for me. If it functioned faster like its previous versions, that would be great!

Recently changed from using google voice on Samsung for years and now that I have iPhone google voice is slow and missing many features/settings. Lost one star from my vote!

Thinking that maybe thatll fix my issues, but NOPE that doesnt it. Now I cant get the app to download. I did everything to try & make it work, but nothing has. Other apps (including google apps) download without any issue. Im beyond frustrated with this horrible app!!!

Constantly crashes on iPhone 6 and I cant use the web based version anymore either. It is caught in loop. I expect crap coding and apps from Micro$oft but not Google.

Removing the favorites makes it a lot harder to operate and make quick calls. Also, it has been crashing a lot. I always send the crash reports. What is the status of the fix?
