The new GVoice is better now. And deserve more than 2 stars . Can send mms Msg.

Well I really like this app, especially now that it supports pictures. I do wish it were better integrated into the iOS system, so that I could send pictures from Photos. It does work from Google Photos, which is great, but usually I want to send the most recent photo and Google photos hasnt synced it up yet.

Also you can forward voicemails anymore I dont know why they got rid of this feature. I prefer the old before the update.

Entire interface is very slow. Marks outgoing text messages as unread (have to reopen message thread to get rid of unread notification). Very very slow to load incoming messages.

The latest update has made the App unusable. Can we role it back. It is aweful. Slwo adn not hardly usable. Shameful junk from Google.

I cannot believe that google would release a terrible app like this. It has been terrible release after release. The app keeps hanging, freezing and it is super-slow.

App crashes unexpectedly a lot. Also cannot copy and paste GIFs from GBoard.

The latest version removed vital feature: being able to launch a call using the app, but outbound from my home analog phone (i.e. dont use iPhone to launch call; have GV launch call back to home phone, then connect to destination, as web page phone calls are launched)

This app is total garbage. And Google doesnt seem to care. Its been garbage since launch. I dont get notifications, new messages dont refresh, calling shows random numbers, and adding photos (with the camera access on) tells me that I need to give camera access.

Just wanted to give an update - since Google took texting out of Hangouts I have been using the Google Voice Apple apps and been impressed over the past versions I have tried. It works flawlessly for texting and calling and my only complaint which is small is sometimes it lags in adding the message you just pressed send on to the thread. And also its little slow turning a new message to read state after viewing it. You have to kind of click on and off a few times before it unbolds. Pretty small complaints great job Google voice app team!

One of the worst apps I have ever used. Its buggy, ultra slow and crashes about 4 out of 5 times I use it. Reflects pretty poorly on Google... and that is putting it mildly!

This app is crying for Call Kit integration. You should be able to place google voice calls from Phone / Contacts app. Also there must be some workaround for the Call Xxx-xxx-xxxx ? Box. It is terrible and forces users to double initiate every call. Work with apple to find a solution.

Google Voice old app was good. After they upgraded it, the performance is bad and the worst thing is navigation. Sometimes its impossible to search for a name using their search button. And even after updating contact number in iPhone ,google voice miraculously shows old number. Learn from google how to screw up perfectly fine product by adding downgrades to it.

Have been using Google Voice almost since it was released, and have ridden through the ups and downs. The new v2 interface looks good, photo integration is great(!), conversation view is wonderful, and the same old integration with Contacts and the Phone apps is awesome. However, the June 2017 version of Google Voice does not function smoothly on my iPhone 5s. Every action, from scrolling to creating a new message to searching, takes a moment or two to get a response, if the action even registers at all. Not a smooth or efficient experience. The hold-to-delete conversations is also gone. Its still possible to delete conversations, but it takes 3 steps (and with the all the pauses, thats 5-10 seconds.) Maybe this will we reintroduced after the conversation view has been around long enough, and the risk has been reduced of thinking a single message will be removed.

Its the worst. The app acts like its walking through sludge to get from one page to another. Even deleting text if you misspell a name is delayed. I avoid using it at all costs.

Inbound calls are free on my plan, so the old click to call was great. Now theyve taken it away, which is costing me quite a bit. Please bring back click-to-call!

At first I was pleased about the new string of updates to the app and the google voice service, but I noticed that by streamlining things they are removing features that I need and Im constantly reaching for an old device with the old app or reverting the web app to the classic version. Google voice has always been a niche product and Google does not even want it to be mainstream, as evidenced by the total lack of promotion and exclusion of GV from the Google Apps links menu in every other Google web app. So why is Google streamlining this and removing features? It is exactly the opposite of what is attractive about the GV service; there could never be too many configuration options for GV in my opinion. In my case, I hate how they removed the "do not use for calls" option when setting up the app in a new device, thus allowing me to select a number at dial time for a callback, like a switchboard in your pocket. That option is removed now an I have to choose one specific forwarding number within the app to use for calls. Overall, very disappointed with the path this service is taking.

How did this ever get out of testing?? It is soooo sloooow. Messages are not marked as read unless I open them three or four times. My own sent messages show up as unread. Sometimes I dont get texts that people send me for several hours. And it frequently crashes.

I have been using the Google Voice app for probably about six years. It always function fine although it was frustrating to not have the photo capability and texts. I was so happy when they finally came out with a new were version of the app with more functionality. However, the app is now snail slow and very unresponsive. If I want to make an outgoing call it might take a full minute once I open the app for her to respond, open up my address book, and let me dial. Im seriously looking at other options support my Google voice number over to.

The app is slow and never clears notifications. I have reverted to Hangouts just to get by. Please address the issues and make this a usable tool.
